Mortgage Product Transfer Service
What is a mortgage Transfer?
If you are an existing mortgage holder you will be most likely on a mortgage product with an end date. As you approach that end date you need to think about the best mortgage product available to you going forward, and you generally secure this via a mortgage transfer.
A mortgage transfer, sometimes called a mortgage rate switch, or mortgage product transfer, is an arrangement where your existing lenders applies a new mortgage rate to your lending.
In most cases a mortgage transfer is an administration exercise that does not require any checks or credit scoring.
Why mortgage transfer?
- Do not run a credit check
- Do not require proof of income
- Do not require supporting documentation
- Work from an automatic valuation
As a result it is generally straightforward to obtain a new mortgage rate using the mortgage transfer process.
More importantly we can also compare the options available to you from your current lender with the best options available in the market.
When should I apply for a mortgage transfer?
The best time to apply will depend on your lender. Lenders typically allow you to apply for mortgage transfer within 90 days of expiry of your current mortgage product. Some have a five month window.
Do I need to pay my broker?
Here at ACL Mortgages we do not charge a fee for mortgage transfers, but you may find that is not the policy with your usual broker.

Protection Review Service
Why check your policy? Is your policy written in trust?
Figurers from some of the UK's largest insurers showed that around 92 % or all life assurance policies were not written in trust. This means that when you die the money from the policy will form part of your estate and will not be paid directly to your family
By law they would have to wait until your estate is settled which can take between 6-18 months depending on whether you had a Will in place.
Do you have a joint policy?
These policies only pay out once on the first person to die. Duel policies provide greater cover at a similar cost.
We will ensure that your policy/policies properly protect you and your family.
We source polices from a panel of insurers which includes the following providers :
- Aviva
- Zurich
- Legal & General
- Vitality
- Scottish Widows
- Royal London
- LV
We do not charge a fee for protection advice the insurance companies pay us commission.
